Rudolph La Fontant, DPM, is a podiatrist bringing more than 30 years of experience in foot and ankle care to the Foot and Ankle Institute of Iowa, serving people of all ages living in Des Moines, Iowa, and throughout Des Moines County.
Dr. La Fontant began his professional education at Fordham University in The Bronx, New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Science. Following graduation, Dr. La Fontant enrolled at the New York Medical College in Valhalla and studied pathology.
He subsequently enrolled at the College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, and earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. Before entering private practice, Dr. La Fontant completed a podiatry residency at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Dr. La Fontant has spent all three decades of his career in the Des Moines area. He loves getting to know the people in his care and takes the time to understand their symptoms and goals for treatment.
